Pawtucket’s Dog Park is open for the season for all dogs to enjoy. Volunteers hosted a spring clean-up and made improvements including the addition of an agility ramp, collar rack, and bag boxes.
Pawtucket’s Dog Park is overseen by the Parks and Recreation Department as well as the Pawtucket Dog Park Committee. Committee members include: Sheryl Rennick (Chairwoman), Joanna Palazzo (Co-Chair), Tracy Dame (Treasurer/Secretary), Karen Meyette, Donna Decosta, and Lee Ann Roy. The committee fundraised for the additional ramp, rack, and bag boxes.
“The dog park continues to grow and is a popular spot for dogs and their owners to play and socialize,” said Mayor Donald R. Grebien. “Thank you to our dedicated committee members for all of their hard work year after year.”
The 5th Annual Dogapalooza Family Festival will be held on Saturday, August 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 6th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Dog Park. The event will feature family relay games, a mini-olympics, costume contest, music, and more.
Established in June 2011, the Pawtucket Dog Park has become a beloved location within Slater Memorial Park for dogs to run, play and socialize with others.
