Voter-Approved Citywide Paving Continues

PAWTUCKET – Mayor Donald R. Grebien, the Pawtucket City Council, and the Department of Public works have announced the citywide repaving of streets and roads.

“Quality of life for our residents is of utmost importance, which is why the repaving plan continues to be so aggressive,” said Mayor Donald R. Grebien. “I thank the City Council for their partnership, the hard working men and women of the Department of Public works, and, most importantly, our residents who passed the bond referendum with overwhelming support.”

Road repaving for Fiscal Year 2020 is anticipated to be complete by July 30th, a date delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The over 6.5 miles of repaving will add to the more than 100 miles of street that have been repaved by the City since 2011. In 2018, voters approved a $5-million-dollar road bond that is estimated to repave another 15 miles of road.

A list of the streets being repaved and their start to finish locations can be found below. Anyone with further questions can contact the Department of Public Works at 401-728-0500 ext. 233.
