Virtual Senior Health & Resource Fair Week 5/3-5/6
PAWTUCKET, RI ~ The City of Pawtucket, Division of Senior Services, Leon Mathieu Senior Center is sponsoring a VIRTUAL Senior Health & Resource Fair Week in celebration of Older Americans Month “Communities of Strength” on May 3rd-May 6th, 2021. We will be kicking off the event with an online panel to include special guests: Mayor of Pawtucket Mayor Donald Grebien, Executive Director of the Leon Mathieu Senior Center Mary Lou Moran, Pawtucket Public Health & Equity Leader Elizabeth Moreira and Medical Director of RI Department of Health Doctor James McDonald to be held via Zoom on Monday, May 3rd from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. During this special online meeting, special guests will be discussing accomplishments of the vaccine rollout, focusing on the community spirit over the past year, a presentation of Older Americans Month awards, and a presentation entitiled “Pandemic Update 2021” by Dr. James McDonald followed by questions from local Seniors.
The week will be filled with online programming to include presentations by the SNAP Outreach Program (Food Assistance and SNAP During the Pandemic), URI School of Pharmacy (Understanding Lab Results), Mindfulness by Jean Overby, Blue Cross Blue Shield of RI (Healthy Beginnings Stress Management), Shri Yoga, Memory and Aging Butler Program (8 Pillars of Brain Health) in Spanish and English, Chair Yoga with Stacey Herrington.
