The Cities of Central Falls and Pawtucket Thank the Chinese-American Community of Rhode Island for Mask Donation

Donations Spearheaded by Community Leaders Louis Yip and Sunny Ng

CENTRAL FALLS, RI- On Monday, April 6th, the Chinese-American Community of Rhode Island donated 200,000 face masks to the State of Rhode Island. Local businessmen and community leaders Louis Yip and Sunny Ng of Tai-O Group delivered the masks to the Rhode Island Department of Health, along with several thousand to be distributed to the Cities of Central Falls and Pawtucket.

Mr. Yip and Mr. Ng facilitated the donation using funds raised by the Chinese-American Community of Rhode Island. Both Mr. Yip and Mr. Ng are also part of the Lt. Governor’s volunteer International Economic Ambassador program.

“I cannot thank Mr. Yip and Mr. Ng enough for their help in providing much needed masks to our cities and our state,” said Central Falls Mayor, James A. Diossa. “I am extremely appreciative of the donations of critical supplies by the Chinese-American Community of Rhode Island and am proud that we can all work together to combat this pandemic.”

“Mr. Yip and Mr. Ng have long been significant community contributors in Pawtucket, Central Falls, and the Blackstone Valley,” said Pawtucket Mayor Donald R. Grebien. “These donations will go a long way to helping minimize the risk of COVID-19 in our communities. It is refreshing to see everyone who continues to step up for all of the residents at this time.”
