PAWTUCKET – Jimmy Burchfield Sr., founder and CEO of Classic Entertainment Sports Boxing, honored Mayor Donald R. Grebien today with a pair of boxing gloves to symbolize his hard work on behalf of the city. Burchfield also brought in the belt from Bleed for This, the movie based on the inspirational story of World Champion Boxer Vinny Pazienza.
“I thank Jimmy (Burchfield Sr.) for taking the time to present me with these honorary gloves,” said Mayor Donald R. Grebien. “I am truly humbled and would like to recognize those on the City Council, Schools, city employees, businesses, and residents. They are the ones who truly keep our community going.”
“I know champions, and Mayor Grebien is a champion,” said Burchfield. “We admire and support anyone that is willing to battle the way the Mayor has. Seeing his efforts on various community matters has inspired me and inspired our boxers. We see the champion spirit in him.”
