Broad Street Regeneration Initiative
The Broad Street Regeneration Initiative is a collaboration of the City of Central Falls, Town of Cumberland, City of Pawtucket and the Blackstone Valley Tourism Council to bring together local community leaders in an effort to mobilize businesses, residents and other local activists towards the regeneration of Broad Street. The effort was energized by a Preserve America grant from the National Park Service. The grant program provides Preserve America Communities with funding to support preservation efforts through heritage tourism, education and historic preservation planning. Preserve America Communities are designated to recognize municipalities “that protect and celebrate their heritage, use their historic assets for economic development and community revitalization, and encourage people to experience and appreciate local historic resources through education and heritage tourism programs.”
