The Office of Planning and Redevelopment is responsible for planning and overseeing major infrastructure projects for the city, including the renovation of existing facilities and the creation of new ones, such as parks, ballfields, community centers and streets and sidewalks. They are responsible for the activities of the Pawtucket City Planning Commission, including subdivision and site plan review; the Pawtucket Redevelopment agency, including it housing and commercial rehabilitation loan programs; the entire designation process of the Pawtucket Historic District Commission; and the business assistance loan programs of Pawtucket's Business Development Corporation. They also work with businesses that wish to open, relocate or expand in the city; administer both the public service program grants from the Pawtucket's Community Development Block Grant Program and the affordable housing development funds under City's HOME Program.
